  • Responsibilities

    As a Cloud Architect, the related tasks and duties involve:

    • Working with Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and IBM cloud offerings to create cloud architectures spanning multiple providers.
    • Understanding and articulating the tradeoffs between different cloud providers.
    • Implementing solutions within the ecosystem of at least one of the above providers.
    • Designing and documenting cloud solutions.
    • Leading small teams in agile software development efforts and providing direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for systems.
    • Directly interfacing with customer working groups on development and integration issues.
    • Representing IOMAXIS in meetings with customers.
    • Leading, coaching, and developing junior staff.
    • Developing and preparing application documentation, gathering specific information related to the project and applicable technical material.
    • Being a thought leader, staying current with applicable tools and driving adoption of new technologies.
    • Developing a private cloud infrastructure, including the security, networking, container orchestration, and other considerations required for implementation.
    • Assisting with deploying and troubleshooting cloud solutions in a hands-on capacity.



    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar)
    • 4 years' additional experience can be used in place of a degree.


    • Must be Secret clearance eligible; current clearance is a plus.

    General Qualifications:

    • Direct experience designing and developing cloud solutions.
    • Programming experience in python or a similar language.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and how to use them as part of a build process.
    • Familiarity with a provisioning tool such as Ansible.
    • Knowledge of cloud APIs and SDKs and the architectural implications of using them.
    • Experience with Identity management for controlling fine-grained access to cloud resources.
    • Understanding of network communications protocols and concepts, such as encrypted tunnels, network service configuration, and the TCP/IP stack.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Familiarity with platforms such as VMware and OpenStack.
    • Knowledge of containers and container orchestration.
