    IOMAXIS has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Payroll Administrator in our Fredericksburg, Virgina office.   Our Payroll Administrator will work in a high-volume office, processing and managing changes for our disperse locations and working collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. This position requires experience demonstrating precision and expertise, and the ability to maximize efficiency and productivity.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Under general direction from the Controller and Deputy Controller, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of confidentiality.  This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations. This position processes all payroll related time entry, tax deposits, reports, benefit deductions, W2s and audit document requests.

    • Prepare and process bi-monthly payroll for multiple states
    • Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities
    • Reconcile payroll to general ledger
    • Prepare payroll journal entries
    • Responsible for payroll systems maintenance
    • Maintain employee leave balances, benefit payroll deductions, and garnishments
    • Review quarterly payroll tax reports for federal and multiple states
    • Comply with local, state and federal payroll regulations and respond to questions and special requests from regulatory agencies
    • Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures
    • Maintain and administer 401k plan to include contributions and disbursement
    • Communicate with HR teams to make necessary changes/updates to accounts
    • Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times



    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor’s’ degree preferred


    • Must have or be able to obtain DOD Secret clearance.

    Required Qualifications/Attributes

    • Three (3) or more years’ experience administering and managing full life-cycle payroll
    • Excellent computer skills, including payroll software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
    • Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions, and garnishment
    • Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
    • Strong accounting/bookkeeping skills and experience processing expense reports
    • Aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and absolute commitment to confidentiality
    • Outstanding problem solving and analytical thinking skills

    Desired Qualifications

    • Significant experience working in multi-state payroll
    • JAMIS Prime ERP experience
    • Experience working with 3rdparty payroll providers such as ADP and Paychex
