    IOMAXIS has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer who can effectively translate technical solutions to produce complex, professionally written material that contributes toward compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals. In this role our Technical Writer will work cross functionally and virtually with technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop winning, targeted, responsive content as part of a collaborative proposal response process (authoring, tailoring, and editing proposal content). This is a full time role available now in Lorton, VA. 

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Work closely with senior technical SMEs and corporate staff to develop, review, and produce technical content/solutions in response to government Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other data calls to generate material which meets or exceeds solicitation requirements.
    • Interview SMEs to understand complex technical concepts and gain an understanding of the work they perform. Convert that information into technically compliant, competitive, and compelling proposal content to include past performance references.
    • Apply a thorough planning approach to writing by using industry best practice tools and methodologies, outlines, compliance matrices, etc.
    • Research technical concepts, solutions, industry best practices/standards for use in proposal development activities.
    • Edit materials produced by others to ensure technical compliance and to enhance clarity.
    • Lead technical volume reviews and compile and address reviewers’ comments.
    • Work with our graphic artist to conceptualize graphics, process flows, diagrams, and other visuals needed for technical sections to optimize the impact of information provided​.
    • Create, review and/or maintain technical capabilities reuse materials.





    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in English, communications, journalism or similar field, with emphasis on technical writing or IT-related areas.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience working in Federal Government proposal development.
    • Must be a self-starter and assertive to obtain needed information from senior/technical personnel and other subject matter experts under tight deadlines.
    • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, specifically).
    • Ability to write clear, compliant, and compelling content for proposals.
    • Superior interviewing skills, with the ability to translate highly technical information into compelling proposal documentation.



    • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance with eligibility for Top Secret.
