Security risks are everywhere and pose not only threats to our national defense, but financial systems and business infrastructure. Help the Department of Agriculture (USDA) realize one of their key objectives modernizing and securing their information technology infrastructure to ensure they can meet the needs of their Programs and Agency. As a Senior Information Assurance (IA) Engineer with IOMAXIS you will be an integral member supporting the USDA ASOC mission applying expertise in Tools, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) designed to maintain state of the art computing environments. Join our team in a full-time capacity from Kansas City, Missouri. This position becomes available upon contract award anticipated November 2018.
In this role you will:
Provide on-site support to troubleshoot and resolve any hardware issues that may be present across any ASOC system
Develop alerts and correlation rules within the systems deployed in the ASOC Enclave.
Ensure systems are patched according to the Patch and Vulnerability Scanning Policy each month
Maintain configuration, operating processes, certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation, Contingency Plan and architectural documentation
ISC Change Management (CM) process and procedural compliance
Handle trouble and change tickets on issues involving ASOC Tools
Provide technical input to Audit findings and plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms
Provide recovery support, setup and administration (remote and on-site as needed) for all systems. This may require work outside of normal business hours where standard schedule will be adjusted to accommodate these changes
Provide input to the strategic and tactical planning process upon request
Track locations, model, serial numbers and status of SSB servers, security tools and appliances.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics or Computer Science fields
Skills and Capabilities:
Minimum five (5) years of operational experience with Linux systems to include architecture, deployment, operational management, and analysis of security information systems
Providing a full-service capability in management and operations of Linux systems that includes research, architecting, deployment, configuration, administration, monitoring and documentation.
Coordinating change management processes for releasing changes to production
Learning the business and product quickly, and adapting to a dynamic development environment
Communicating with the customers to gather and define project requirements
Working knowledge and experience utilizing the following tools: ELK, Hadoop, Bro, Security Onion, Google Rapid Response, Sourcefire, Tenable, Nagios and Ansible
Experience in the IT security domain (IPS, malware, incident detection and response, firewalls, NIST 800-53)
OS competency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows Server
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communications skills
Certification: CISSP, C|EH, Security+ and/or Linux+
Clearance: Minimum of Public Trust; SECRET-Level Security Clearance Preferred
